Importance of outpatient day (OPD)

The outpatient department is the first point of contact with the hospital. It forms an entry gate into the hospital premises for the patients or into the healthcare delivery system. From this dorm only, it starts the stepping stone for health promotion and disease prevention. Any of the hospital should bother much about the maintenance and planning of their OPD to reach the goal of serving people in healthcare industries.

It has been noticed, that if patients find trouble in this phase of hospital, they just stop visiting that particular hospital. It affects the healthcare system at whole.

There could be many patients coming into OPD as:

– Emergency outpatients

– Referred outpatients

– General outpatients.
