Extensive use of computer learning in providing quality control in genetic database!

Computer learning has gone many folds ahead in coordination with healthcare/clinical technology with a mission of pin pointing many disorders in human body. The same helped generating huge database of sequences, disease impressions, patient’s data etc from around the world. These giant collections of data somewhere has helped too in figuring out many counseling techniques in terms of reducing the incidences of many disorders, biological changes and all. Looking at the bullish nature of the databases, every center in healthcare sector has started shedding lights into this potential field to impart knowledge for the betterment. Many such initiatives have been taken to proof out of this immaculate record when it comes to make sense to the real world.

A Short circuit in gene network

Science has developed so far and with the help of available techniques and procedures, it has become quite easy to knock down many disease conditions and other congenital conditions occurring in human lives. Techniques developed till now have really worked well in improving lives. There are many techniques that are being into developing stage and enthusiasts are working hard on it to make it possible to pin down every possible disease and other ailment conditions. One such congenital condition is called, cleft lip and cleft palate. It affects 1 in every 600 children born worldwide (1) and is one of the most commonly occurred congenital deformities. It has been explained and shown the particular gene playing role in sole or in association with other factors playing role in the formation of non-syndromic cleft lip and/or cleft palate. Several genes has been found and sequenced for confirmation and found playing role in formation of different forms of cleft lip and/or cleft format.

Unraveling the hidden secrets in the genomic data is the key to the solution (but not necessarily for everything)

This is not true to comment that there are many deformities and other congenital birth deformities and other related health issues that are affecting every second human. And the life expectancy has decreased to hell down. But many of us are able to manage surviving on medicines. It’s true that earlier food used to be our fuel for life, while now medicines has excelled to be the fuel for many in fighting against viruses, infections, diseases, strokes and many other ailments that are knuckling under from a healthy life to an unhealthy way of life.

As per today’s trend people are more inclined and of course dependent in using modern techniques for examining, diagnosing and treating the cause. It takes very less time in diagnosing and giving the appropriate treatments for the cause. But not many problems get over by such treatments. Sometime, it stands as the end of the problem; sometimes it invites other package of problems, sometimes gives chances for further problems in future. So, it becomes very important for respective cases to be examined and treated with proper knowledge and information in terms of making them aware of the complications in future. There are hereditary diseases and it might or might not pass to the next generations, but one never knows what could be the result. So, it is better for those who know that some of the hereditary problems could appear in them, so it’s good to get counseled and be at the safer side.

Important: There is one deformity called “congenital birth deformity of cleft lip and cleft palate”. There are around 35,000 children born with this deformity every year in India only. It varies geographically and environmentally too. So, treating them is one of the best parts that our medical people can render services to such people. But educating them and letting them know the chances of getting second child again with cleft deformity with or without some associated syndromes is always there. So, they should take it serious and should go through all necessary genetic counseling and other nutritional counseling if they are planning for the second child in their family. Because it could be, that the “gene” is there in either of the parents and can again dominate or sometimes can simply lie without dominating and would of course would never prevail to another shock to the parents.

There are ways some hereditary diseases and conditions can be avoided if taken proper tips and knowledge from respective folks working in the field of medicines and research and counselors and surgeons.

Are there being any RESEARCH studies done in India focusing CLEFT Deformity??

Well, in terms of birth deformities. India comes on the top with the counts of births with de
formities. One such deformity is called Cleft lip and Palate deformity sometimes accompanied
by some syndromes. There are many organizations that are helping these poor and needy population to avail
surgeries for their congenital deformity.
Providing them surgeries is an another point of view and considering these bunch of population for further studies
and research, so that we can reach the depth of the cause.
India could be the hub for such studies in terms of clinical studies and genetic studies. But organizations need to take
initiative for the same.
I trust that if studies approved to be done in India, it will help a lot to know the better solutions to prevent this deformity
when detected during gestation period. No doubt studies and work will be quite challenging.
